Week 4, still hanging there

I love green juicing so much, can’t explain why. Taste is bitter and sour and so refreshing, it wakes me up better than two shots of espresso.

I make bets with kids, who can sip this juice and don’t make a face. They just love it and try their best to drink it with a straight face. My puppies, I hope they will keep playing until they get used to the taste.

Yesterday I stopped by Whole Foods, and found dandelion leaves, this is so awesome, I’ve read a lot how good and healthy dandelion leaves are.

So here is my favorite (so far) green juice combination:

  • any dark leaves combination I can find in the organic section: parsley, cilantro, kale, broccoli, dandelion(starting today)
  • celery. It is juicy, plus I’ve heard a lot about its detox qualities
  • 1 lemon, to make is sour as hell. It helps digestion and also a good detox
  • sometimes I add few grapes or strawberries

While juicing I always follow leaves with lemon slices or grapes, to make sure to get all the leaves’ juice rinsed properly through a juicer.

Then I add water to fill the pitcher to the brim. It is actually very sour and very bitter, so adding water helps.

I do it first thing in the morning, so that’s my first “meal” and I try not to eat anything for at least 30 min after it.

Leftover pulp is good as a part of a smoothie.
